Pencils

Our classroom currently is pencil-less. We have used the supply that the district provided and the students are running out of lead for their mechanical pencils. If you would like to donate a bag or two of #2 pencils, it would be greatly appreciated. I will sharpen them for the students to use.

Dear Parents and Students,
The next round of Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 5:00-8:00p.m. I look forward to meeting with you about your child’s progress during second quarter.
Valentine Dance forms (pink) are due by Friday, February 3, 2012. If you and your child would like to attend, please return the pink slip and money ASAP. Limited space available – no walk ups.
We are still in need of gallon Ziploc bags, Clorox wipes, and tissues. If you are able to purchase any of these items for classroom use, please send them in with your child. Thanks for all of your support!
In math we have continued Units 7 and 9. Both units focus on multiplication and division. The test will cover how to solve multi-digit problems, along with word problems. We began testing multiplication facts for third quarter. Your child must score a 48 or above (out of 50) to be proficient.
In social studies, we continued learning about Changes in Time. Students have been studying timelines and what life was like 200 years ago. A test will be given next Tuesday, February 7, 2012. The study guide will come home on Friday of this week. ALL questions come from the study guide. Please help your child study for this test.
The next spelling test is this Friday, February 3, 2012. Students need to know how to spell each word and be able to write three sentences that I read aloud with a spelling word in it. To help your child study you can make flashcards or study them orally. It is important that your child studies nightly! Students who earn a 100% on the spelling test will receive a homework pass.
Have a good evening!
